Highlights
Capacity Building Coordination
The landscape of the European metrology infrastructure is constantly changing with emerging metrology systems or fields of measurements. This project aims to support EURAMET’s members and associates to develop a balanced and integrated metrology system in the participating countries. It will provide support and coordination of existing capacity building instruments (Researcher Mobility Support, Mentoring Scheme Awards, Training Events) to address key metrological challenges and build capacities through knowledge transfer activities.
Researcher Mobility Support (RMS)
This instrument supports researchers from EURAMET metrological institutes to join an organisation in a different country to their employer (an EURAMET NMI or DI or other institution that can host suitable research) for between one to nine months, in order to perform research in the selected field.
The grant funds travel, subsistence, and other allowances, but not the salary of the researcher. The salary of the researcher must continue to be paid by the Employing Organisation.

Mentoring Scheme Awards (MSA)
The Mentoring Scheme Awards provide a platform for staff from two different EURAMET metrological institutes (NMIs and DIs), in different countries, to set up a partnership and work together on a relevant topic, such as technical, managerial, comparisons or traceability. MSA participants will spend between 2 and 6 weeks (not necessarily consecutive) at the partner organisation in a different country to their employing organisation.

Training Events (TE)
(Courses, Workshops, Summer Schools)
For EURAMET metrological institutes (NMIs and DIs) to maintain and further expand its capacity building efforts, it is crucial to ensure the long-term stability of the resources (human and financial) that sustain them. Training events (courses, workshops, and summer schools) develop the technical skills of existing staff at NMIs/DIs, support the development of newly qualified staff for all EURAMET NMIs/DIs and prepare them for work in a metrological laboratory.

EURAMET 2026 Autumn School on Radiometry, Photometry and Spectrophotometry
2-6 November, 2026, INRiM, Torino, Italy The school will give less experienced metrologists in the field of radiometry, photometry and spectrophotometry, the opportunity to learn basic theory and practice of related measurements, with the aim to prepare them for their future work. The course will be a valuable opportunity to network with likeminded colleagues at […]
EURAMET 2026 Summer School on Thermophysical Quantities Metrology
1-4 September, 2026, LNE, Paris, France The Summer School will give metrologists new to the field of measurements of the thermophysical properties of materials an overview of the state-of-the-art techniques used for measuring thermal transport properties, caloric quantities and radiative properties with the aim to prepare them for their future work. During the first two […]
EURAMET 2026 Summer School on Biochemical Metrology (TC-MC)
10-13 August, 2026, PTB, Kloster Drűbeck, Germany The aim of the school is to inform participants about the current global and European metrology infrastructures supporting the clinical, biotechnology and food sectors. Students will learn about the fundamentals of the primary methods of analysis used to assure the metrological traceability of pure primary calibrators and matrix […]
