EURAMET Training course on the review of quality management systems in National Metrology Institutes (NMI) and Designated Institutes (DI).

The Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology hosted EURAMET’s training course focused on the review of Quality Management Systems in the field of metrology.

The training course was aimed at NMI and DI quality managers and those involved in the revision of quality management systems. The event held in Madrid in November 2025 brought together 20 participants from 14 countries.

The training, partially funded by the Capacity Building Coordination Project (CaBuCo), aimed to strengthen competencies in evaluating quality systems in line with CIPM MRA requirements and EURAMET guidelines.

Over three days, attendees engaged in theoretical sessions and practical exercises on: 

• QMS review procedures within the CIPM MRA framework, 
• Differences between peer review and accreditation, 
• Best practices for reporting and technical visits.

This initiative contributes to harmonizing quality management processes across Europe, improving the reliability of metrological services, and fostering international collaboration in scientific and industrial metrology.
