Training events (TE)

For EURAMET community to maintain and further expand its capacity building efforts, it is crucial to ensure the long-term stability of the resources (human and financial) that sustain them. Training Events courses, workshops, and summer schools) develop the technical skills of existing staff at NMIs/DIs, support the development of newly qualified staff for all EURAMET NMIs/DIs and prepare them for work in a metrological laboratory..

Eligibility criteria

The admissibility and eligibility criteria are the minimum conditions that an application must fulfil if it is to be evaluated. Where eligibility is not met, the application will be rejected, and the proposers informed. If ineligibility is discovered later during the evaluation process, the application will be rejected.

General:
  • Organising institutions to be EURAMET NMIs and DIs or NMIs and DIs from EU member states or countries associated to Horizon Europe;
  • Training courses and workshops to be held as 1–5 days events,
  • Summer schools to held as 3-10 days events;
  • Training courses and workshops to be provided online or as face‑to‑face events;
  • Minimum number of participants per event is 5;
  • Minimum number of participating countries per event is 3;
  • Event to be held in English. Alongside English, other local languages could be considered to reach wider audience and ensure inclusivity.
Typical activities:
Training events would cover several topics that are relevant to NMI and DIs. Typical topics would be prioritised and decided on annually by EURAMET bodies and would include:
  • CIPM MRA;
  • Technical subjects;
  • Participation in research projects;
  • NMI management & communications;
  • Legal metrology.
Participants:
  • Staff members of EURAMET NMIs and DIs, students, representatives of RMOs,
Financial allowances:
The project will reimburse the actual costs incurred for travel and subsistence of key speakers, venue hire (if required) and catering costs according to the accounting rules of the hosting organisation, and on receipt of an invoice from that organisation, and taking into account the estimated budget for the event. The labour costs for organisation of the event will not be covered by the scheme.

How to apply

An application will include the following information:
  • Agenda of the training event, clearly identifying the topic it is responding to,
  • Names, affiliations, and expertise of presenters,
  • Financial estimates,
  • Proposal describing the aim, key learning outcomes, target audience and potential impact
